In 2024, the Polish School in Ottawa is celebrating its 70th anniversary. Seventy years marks seven decades of promoting and teaching the Polish language, culture, and traditions among the young Polish generation in Ottawa. The Polish School in Ottawa was founded in May 1954 by members of the Polish Combatants' Association, Branch No. 8. In 1960, it officially adopted the name Wiktor Podoski Polish School in Ottawa. Since 1977, the Polish school has been included in the provincial government’s language program and receives funding from Ontario's Ministry of Education. At the jubilee banquet, attended by the President of the Polish Combatants' Association in Canada and the Secretary-General, the Gold Cross was awarded to the School’s Director, Ms. Magdalena Bronowska.

Welcome all children from junior kindergarten to grade 12. The in-person classes take place every Saturday from 9:30-12:00 at St. Nicholas High School.
Registration for in person classes for 2024-25 school year are already open.

The parent council organizes numerous events for the student throughout the year in addition to regular school activities. These include:
Gifts from Santa
Winter kulig (sleight rides)
Pączki
Music classes
Year end children's day
and more

The Polish school is part of the International and Indigenous Languages Program of the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB).
The International & Indigenous Languages Program – Elementary helps students learn a new language or maintain and develop the language of their home, promoting cultural and linguistic diversity. It is available to all students (JK-Grade 8), regardless of their language background and the school board they attend, and is FREE for Ontario residents.
Languages offered: American Sign Language (ASL), Amharic, Blin, Bulgarian, Cantonese, Creole, Croatian, Dari, Dutch, Farsi, Igbo, Inuktitut, Italian, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Korean, Lingala, Mandarin (Simplified), Mandarin (Traditional), Pashto, Polish, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swahili, Tigrinya, Turkish, Ukrainian, Yoruba.
